Our 2022 Annual Report is now live!
We are so excited to announce that our 2022 Annual Report has launched!?
In 2022, we witnessed a significant rise in conflict and crisis. It was a year in which women’s rights were systematically stripped away. Across the world, women have grappled with violence, inflation and the trauma of war.?
Despite these challenges, your generosity has enabled us to reach 553,437 women survivors of war in the last 30 years. With your support, the women we serve have come together and realized their inherent power to rebuild their lives, their families and their communities.
Our Annual Report is available today. In it, you can look back on our work over the last year for the women in our programs made possible through your support.
Shocking stat about women refugees
We have seen firsthand how conflict disproportionately affects women. In addition to the risks of being forced to flee or are displaced from their homes, families and communities, they also face the potential for increased sexual violence as a weapon of war.?
This leaves lasting consequences for survivors including mental, emotional and physical trauma, feelings of shame, and has the potential for damaging ripple effects among their communities.?
From Syria, Afghanistan, and Iraq to Myanmar, Ukraine, and South Sudan, we've seen this in every country we work in.?At Women for Women International, we have also seen the remarkable resilience, strength and determination of refugee women who want to rebuild their lives and we are committed to providing the necessary resources to help survivors realize their own power and potential.
