Lasrai - an evening of story, music and dance

Lasrai - an evening of story, music and dance

Welcome to the third edition of our Common Knowledge newsletter. This week we're celebrating the opening event of Rekindle Festival of Lost Skills in Ennistymon, Co Clare. We'd like to invite you to join us at LASRAí on August 16th at 7pm - for an evening of story, music and dance featuring Stephanie Keane, Mohammad Syfkhan, Aindrias de Staic, Louise O'Connor and more to be announced.

Whilst the embers of the practical skills we celebrate at Rekindle are glowing more strongly by the year, the flames of traditional music, storytelling and dance are burning brightly, and we can't think of a better way to start the festival weekend than by gathering around these flames together.

Book your ticket to LASRAí here.

Our LASRAí line-up will feature:

Stephanie Keane

Stephanie Keane, the renowned Sean Nós dancer, who will bring her unique fusion of Irish step dance and Sean Nós traditions.

Mohammad Syfkhan

Mohammad Syfkhan, a Kurdish bouzouki player fresh from his performance on "Other Voices," will enchant with traditional Kurdish and Iranian songs.

Aindrias de Staic and Louise O'Connor

The night will also feature the celebrated fiddler and storyteller Aindrias de Staic, alongside the dynamic musician and dancer Louise O'Connor.

We need to keep this joyfulness going, places you can go that are about getting together and dancing as a community“ - from Louise O'Connor's interview with us ahead of taking part in Lasraí. Click the link below to read it in full.?

Our Field Good Friday volunteers hard at work and some of the bounty they helped us to harvest.

Field Good Friday brings in the Harvest

The organic gardens here at Common Knowledge are thriving, thanks to the help of our wonderful volunteers who help Ciara in the gardens every week. As part of our Field Good Friday last week we had the community come along and help with the first big harvest. We harvested over 10 kilos of organic food, which were used to make lunch and eat together.

If you feel like joining the Field Good Friday crew, you can join this group here.?

With love + hope for the future,

Common Knowledge xx
