LASA Conducts Workshop on Operation & Maintenance in Lao PDR

On February 28, 2024, LEA Associate South Asia Pvt. Ltd. (LASA) conducted a Technical Workshop on Operation and Maintenance Phase in OPBRC for NR13 South – Improvement and Maintenance Project for our client, Department for Roads, Govt. of Lao PDR.?LASA is currently offering Implementation Support and Work Supervision (ISWS) consultancy services for the NR13 South – Improvement and Maintenance Project being executed by four contractors under OPBRC mode in the country.

In this workshop, Prasenjit Poddar, the Team Leader of this project, briefed about 50 delegates from the Ministry of Public Works and Transport (MPWT) Department of Roads (DOR), Department of Public Works and Transport (DPWT), Public Works and Transport (PWT), and Project Management Unit (PMU) and four contractors of the entire Project of 275 km length about the responsibilities and extent of work involved in this Output and Performance Based Road Contract Project.

The purpose of this workshop was to acquaint the Department of Roads officials with the specific requirements and deliverables of the NR13 South – Improvement and Maintenance Project. By providing this knowledge, LASA aims to facilitate effective communication and collaboration between all stakeholders involved in the project, while ensuring technical knowledge circulation.

Supported by the World Bank (WB), European Investment Bank (EIB), Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), and Government of Lao PDR, this project aims to enhance connectivity by improving the road condition, safety, and climate resilience. NR13 South road serves as the sole access route from the South of Lao PDR to the capital city of Vientiane.
