THE LARGEST INFORMATION (INTERNET) TECHNOLOGY DISRUPTION IN HISTORY CAUSES CHAOS AROUND THE WORLD

This collapse clearly exposes how arrogantly fragile our modern-day hi-tech civilization is yet, despite the myriad backups, security protocols and precautions carefully put in place (pls read bottom for #climatecrisis and declining Earth's magnetic field)
Disruptions like this can cause incalculable financial, societal and individual damages, in a multitude of systems/services we daily depend upon like land & air travel, #banking, payments, defense (even inducing knee-jerk war blasts), #news broadcasts, work, shopping, #supplychains, #healthcare /hospitals etc
According to #CBS Miami News interview with?Reginald Andres, a cybersecurity industry expert, today's event may take days or weeks to fix up because it will require an immense effort to actively reverse/adjust every major computer network and system.?
In this case, terrorist or #cyberattacks are (so far) discarded and are blamed on glitches between #Microsoft -cum-#Cowdstrike (a provider of security software to industries, government agencies etc in 170 countries that also investigates and tracks hacking) inner systems
But this certainly raises a #redflag regarding how vulnerable we still are concerning cyber attacks, which are attempts to disable, manipulate or gain access to computer systems, networks and devices.
There are a number of cyber attacks like malware, ransomware, spyware, trojan, phishing, spoofing and SQL (structure query language), DoS/DDoS (denial-of-service), MitM (man-in-the-middle), IoT (Internet-of-things), password, BF (Brute Force), Web, Drive-by, Eavesdropping, XSS (cross-site scripting) and Zero-day attacks
According to the Center for Strategic & International Studies ( #CSIS ), in 2024, thru June, there were at least 35 types of these attacks

We are daily at the mercy of these hackings and must do our best to protect ourselves.
However, we are vastly unprotected from the major and growing risk of all which are, according to NASA, severe #SolarGeomagneticStorms (SGS)/ #CoronalMassEjections (#CMEs)/ #SolarFrares (#SF) which can knock out all sorts of electronics, electric systems (power grids), satellite communications, infrastructures and blackout which can extend to weeks to months, depending on the intensity and the way these hit Earth
Recently Earth has been hit by a series of the most powerful of these events in more than 2 decades which resulted in? #Auroras lightening as far down South as the Caribbean, while they normally are geophysically restricted to areas closer to the #NorthPole, the famous #NorthernLights.?
In this context, we could encounter another major problem facing our civilization besides the current up-tending #climatecrisis which is the ever-rapid weakening of Earth's #ElectroMagneticField (#EEC/ #EMF) which could signal, according to the US Government Science Adviser, that it may mean that we are beginning of a "sporadic flip-flop", a geomagnetic excursion or rapid reversal of the North-South Poles, with unfathomable consequences to our civilization and life on Earth.?
Our Planet's weakening EMF can be a significant, though rarely referred to, factor in magnifying #climatechange events... a subject for a future article
