Assisted and independent living have several things in common and at the top of the list is keeping organized. Keeping track of family events and doctor appointments become something we think about every day. While we have technology which provides an electronic calendar, it can not duplicate a wall or desktop calendar which you can write on with a pencil, pen or marker.
The large print calendar (especially desktop version) is a great tool for an older adult because they always can pick it up to review what is coming up. Unlike technology which has to be plugged in, updated, and eventually replaced, the large print calendar last 13 months; January 2020 to January 2021. Every year you get a new one and which makes it easy to manage.
Seniors that want to stay in their homes longer, or seniors living in an assisted living, love the Large Print Calendar because it helps to stay organized. They can add all of their appointments and special events and read it clearly. These are highly recommend for people with vision problems or senior citizens....or anyone who likes to have enough space on a calendar to write notes.
Here are a few of our 5-star comments:
- This was a perfect calendar for my aging parents. They can easily see the dates and were able to write their upcoming appointments and events.
- Made of good sturdy heavy paper and I love the spiral spine. Great BOLD LARGE PRINT.
- This is the ninth year I purchased a calendar from this company. I keep all our appointments on it for easy viewing.
- This is the third year we've purchased this calendar. It's for my 109 year old mother-in-law and she loves the large print. Plenty of room to make notes for special occasions.
- Print was large and bold but did not compromise writing space. Extra page monthly for appointments was a plus. Back page for phone numbers very convenient. Someone with poor vision would benefit using this calendar.
- I purchased one of these last year. My elderly parents really liked it, so I bought another for the new year. Works great for their use - appointments, notes, etc.
- I get this same calendar every year and hang it inside one of my kitchen cabinets. It's perfect for all of my needs!
- I bought this for my parents after noticing how much they use their calendar. THEY LOVE THIS CALENDAR!
- I buy one of these every year around Christmas for my close friends. They LOVE them!
- I need to be able to look up and see my appointments from a distance. I gave up on "cute" calendars.
- Buy every year for, Mom with, Macular degeneration. Perfect for her!
- No nonsense calendar. All the space is dedicated to the actual calendar, allowing for big print and space to write in appointments and accomplishments. Nice thick paper doesn’t bleed with magic marker notations. One of the few products that I wouldn’t hesitate to purchase.
- This large print calendar hangs on the wall in my sister's assisted living apartment and easy to write down up coming appointments.
- I love how sturdy it is - I love that it has a spiral binding making it easy to flip pages monthly. I LOVE how large the daily dates are and the large amount of writing space - it even has a huge area to write monthly notes.
- I bought this for my mom who is 73. She loves this!!! She can read it clearly and there’s plenty of room for her to write notes. I will be buying this every year. Highly recommend for people with vision problems or senior citizens....or anyone who likes to have enough space to write notes.
- This is nice and big and works for my elderly father with macular degeneration
- I can see the dates from across the room. Also there's plenty of room to write in your appointments and special occasions. This is my third one, and will buy one every year.
- Since I am visually impaired, I need a calendar that is big enough for me to see. This calendar has big blocks for every day of the week. I am able to write in my appointments with black marker and see them easily. I have used this product before and I intend on using it every year.
- As a nanny for a large family with 5 kids (6 years to 17 years old) I purchase Avery labels which are different colors so each child has their own color which fit in the daily squares. I can print special events for each kid and this really helps mom, dad, the kids and especially me to keep track of what is going on. It hangs on the wall where everybody sees it and has room to make notes. The 2020 calendar is my sixth year buying this great product!
- We can see it from across the room
- This is the 3rd year in a row of purchasing the calendar. It’s perfect for our needs, has enough room for multiple listings per day, and a place to jot down grocery/shopping needs.
- Easy to see, plenty of room to write, clean/modern look. We get this one every year!
- We have a custom Large Print wall calendar made every year, and order 200 for the Veterans we serve. Veterans look forward to receiving their custom Large Print Calendars each year. The calendars are really helpful to keep track of dates and to list appointments in the large squares. They love them.
- We have a custom large print calendar made for our Department of Aging office every year which makes a great gift to give out to the people we help throughout the year. We have our calendar customized to include exactly what we want on the cover and the header of each month. This is the best investment for anybody that works with an aging population that wants to keep their contact in front of people all year!
ABOUT THE LARGE PRINT CALENDAR
The Large Print Calendar was first created in 2007 by Patrick J. Fischer, and is provided by Accessibility dot Net, Inc., which has been helping the blind and visually impaired since 1997. The Large Print Calendar re-enforces a person’s activity for the current month and for the upcoming months. Patrick made the first one for his mom in 2007. Over the years Patrick has had different people email him and tell him how much this has helped their parents keep something that hangs on the wall every day for them to look at for reminders. One person even said they hung it on the wall outside the bathroom door, so her dad would see it every time he came out of the bathroom. Patrick is a big advocate for simple solutions to help an aging population. Patrick's mom loved the Wall calendar, but wanted something smaller, and so the desktop version was created. 5 年This is partly why I prefer to write notes by hand rather than hammering at a keyboard. That and written notes will still be readable (debatable depending on handwriting of course) whereas notes taken with a WP are subject to the whims of the software devs providing backward file format compatibility.
