Large lots of PPE supplies OTG and the very definition of insanity..

Einstein said it best “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

As someone who funds PPE projects and also helps people find supplies it always amazes me how dedicated some people are to finding large lots of OTG masks and gloves. In discussions they admit they have had deal after deal fall through for months. They have lost clients, damaged their reputations and wasted time yet they refuse to understand the basic concept that they would be better off with a production run.

Look at Cranberry gloves and 3M masks, on a daily basis I see people claiming lots on the ground in a warehouse that are larger than either companies annual production..

I have access to several million Honeywell N95 masks yet nobody is interested in a smaller lot masks that actually exist everyone is running around trying to by billions of 3M 1860’s that don’t exist.

We have prefunded production runs to be paid CIF when inspected and released that can begin delivering within 3 weeks yet people insist they have found a lot of Cranberry gloves that are more gloves than the company has manufactured in their entire existence.

Yet the same people keep coming back looking for funding on the same types of deals that logically are physically impossible.

Between scammers and well-intentioned misguided people the PPE industry is a mess. If the goal is to get supplies to people and make money the goods need to be real.

There is a world wide shortage any large lots on the ground are long gone. Manufacturers are booking future production. Raw materials like Nitrile and plastic are in short supply. If it sounds to good to be true it is.

Like anything else pay attention to the actual market. You may find smaller lots OTG but you will pay a premium. The price you are telling people you have if it is under market the item won’t exist.

Yes the pandemic created a new market and business model in PPE supplies but certain rules apply to any market. We are months in and if you don’t learn from past failures you are destined to repeat them.
