We conclude the hugely popular?Large & Complex Masterclass lecture series?on?Wednesday 7 December 2022 with an in-depth exploration of steel frame Passivhaus. The Masterclass is the official launch of the Passivhaus Trust's new technical position paper.?

With the Passivhaus standard now being routinely applied in the UK to larger and more complex buildings, we are seeing the emergence of more steel frame elements, or entire steel frames, being designed for Passivhaus buildings.

The design and certification of steel frame buildings can introduce additional complexity in calculating U-values, thermal bridging, and condensation risk. The Masterclass will explore these complexities as well as looking at the decision-making process leading to the specification of steel frame construction. Speakers include experts from across the construction industry who have contributed to the technical position paper.?
