At Lantm?nnen, we have gathered a team of heroes to explore smarter ways of working

– Wait, what? Digital Hero? Is that some kind of super hero doing great things online?

– Well yes, basically! Let us tell you more about this exciting initiative within Lantm?nnen that has become a real success story.

When Lantm?nnen first introduced Office 365 on a broader scale, we really wanted the users to engage with the tools and to learn more about their possibilities. It wasn’t only about how to use the tools and the applications – we wanted the users to explore the smarter ways of working that the new digital environment opened up for.

How did you start this initiative?

Firstly, we scanned the organization for colleagues who had different strengths – some were early adopters and loved new technology, some had a wide network of contacts, and some were that “go-to-person" when you had a how to-question. We invited them – and all the others who were interested – to become Digital Heroes! Once joined, they were coached to be our leading stars for working digitally. Now that the program is open and ongoing, anyone who is interested can easily sign up to join.

What does a Digital Hero do?

The Digital Hero gets to try new tools and applications, join monthly inspirational sessions where they have “digital battles” and share knowledge and tricks within a community with other Digital Heroes. Besides the monthly sessions, channels such as Teams and Yammer are used for quick and easy communication with each other. Furthermore, the Digital Heroes becomes ambassadors for the smart, digital ways of working, enabling our colleagues to adopt and benefit from the new tools.

Being a Digital Hero is about being a catalyst in the adoption process of new tools and technology and therefore being a vital part of the transformation journey for the entire Lantm?nnen Group.

What do you hope to achieve with the Digital Hero community?

At the time of writing, there are about 200 Digital Ambassadors globally within Lantm?nnen, enabling and helping their colleagues towards smarter ways of working. Not only does this contribute to lowering the threshold between IT and businesses, but it also helps to create a dynamic where IT becomes an important and integrated part of the businesses.

The journey of Digital Heroes has only begun at Lantm?nnen, and we are really excited about what lies ahead of us. What we do know for sure is that the development of digital tools and smarter ways of working will continue to progress, and that the Digital Heroes will play a vital role in how the organization benefits from this.
