Lanie Conklin's Heartfelt Vision for Babies and Children

Lanie Conklin is a regular contributor to our Intenders Facebook Founders Circle. Thanks so much for this one, Lanie. It's very touching. She says:

I recently heard a heart-breaking story that has had me very focused on a new vision alignment for the safety of babies & children. The story was about an 8 WEEK OLD, a NEWBORN, who had been brought into the E.R. for a 2nd time in his short 8-week lifespan, this time with a - get this - baby wipe shoved so far down his throat it was blocking his breathing. The father was ARRESTED ON-SITE as the hospital notified the police. After all, the newborn had been at the same hospital at only 5 days old with a "detached eye lens". This story made me sick to my stomach - and then only to read another right behind it where a 2 mo old was found dead at the hands of it's own father.

I am feeling there are too many of these stories popping up revealing these powerless little humans at the mercy of evil, selfish, cruel adults. Since the birth of my son a year ago, I have been very well aware of the amount of love & affection that he gets from me, alone, much less others in his large family! And every kiss, every hug that I give my son, I envision every baby receiving from their respective care-givers & loved ones. (Need I even mention the horror of the Anthony case which received so much attention?) I believe every baby & child deserves this security & feeling of love and I want this to be REALITY for our world.

So here is my vision that I would like all to align with (maybe you can help me verbalize it better, but here is the jist of what I am trying to say):

I envision a world where every baby, every child is blessed with love & affection every day. Where every person who has a baby & child under their care, gives that child a safe, loving home with nothing but affection & peace towards that baby. I envision every child knowing that their home & their parents are the safest place in the world for them to be. Their homes and their parents are the first place that they learn the amazing feeling of being loved & hugged and that this is the building block for how they treat the world as they grow. I envision that every child & baby is MOVED TO A SAFE PLACE, if they are currently in danger. Every child/baby is given comfort & love when they are feeling scared or hurt. This is their (and OUR) God-given right the second we are born and I intend and envision that every human being alive RESPECT & HONOR that right and give NOTHING BUT loving kindness to these new lives. I see every adult showering these new little ones with so many kisses and hugs every day, and providing them with feelings of safety & security. With this showering of love, I see the faces of every child LIGHTING UP and showing pure contentment & peace, CORRECTLY KNOWING in their very souls that the world is filled with loving, kind people who will never ever hurt them.

This is the world that I envision we ALL LIVE IN NOW & FOREVER MORE.

So be it and so it is.
