'Big languages' have subjected ethnic groups to social and economic inequality, denying them opportunities enjoyed by others.?
Jesus sent his disciples to preach the Word of God to all nations. However, for years, this mission has predominantly been carried out in languages of wider communication. Marginalised language communities are left at the mercy of linguistic constraints. But who created linguistic diversity? - God. Then why are some victimised by their languages? Don't they deserve redemption through Jesus Christ??
Mother tongue is a key to unlocking the secrets of the Scripture. In the post-reformation times, people need to understand by the Holy Spirit, not by church authorities, what the Bible says and means.?
As SIL International's mission strives to see people flourish in the languages they value most, I feel blessed to be part of this rewarding ministry. I actively contribute to this endeavour by honing my skills daily, researching and developing marginalised language orthographies, creating literacy materials, and teaching.

It is truly a touching and fulfilling ministry that transforms people's lives - both physically and spiritually.?
A couple of weeks ago, I traveled to Mpanda Town in the Katavi Region to meet two language communities: Lwila and Konongo. My purpose was to teach them the orthographies of their mother tongues from the primers I had developed. It was a profound experience witnessing people's joy in learning to read and write the language they speak daily, in all contexts.?
The ultimate goal is to help them read the Bible in their mother tongue, thereby transforming their lives and saving their souls. God has many ways to save His people, and linguistic constraints will never impede His plan if you and I work faithfully to bridge this gap. The world needs us, but heaven depends on us. Let's strive to make the Word of God equally accessible to all ethnic groups in their multilingual contexts. SIL Global #wordofGod #literacy Leila Schroeder Susan Nyaga
