Language or barriers
One of my aunt visited our home, I even don't know her, got to know about her later. At home when spoke in Tamil, she shouted "Telugu raadhaa" Don't you know telugu, yes of course Telugu is my mother tongue and we are living in Chennai, we are so accustomed to speak tamil those days.
I still remember when teacher said to us, no more hindi in our school we need to opt Hindi if we need it. My father couldn't able to make a special fees to school, we stopped studying hindi. There is only few option, telugu schools are faraway, restrictions on other languages made to us learn Tamil as a second language. Tamil is so imposed on us, whenever visitors at our home asked us to give a tour, we used to get them to Anna memorial or MGR memorial. They use to ask, don't you have any other places than this. For us Anna and MGR are idols, for them they are regional leaders.
By the Hindi was spoken vastly in India, next is Telugu/Bengali and to survive in Tamilnadu one have to learn Tamil and Tamil only. Days were passed, I started moving to other states (county) for our jobs, later come to know the value of learning Hindi. When Hindi conversation starts, I will be cornered like punished child in the class. Either you can't understand or you can't reply too. Only weapon is English, I don't know language war sacrifiers (Mozi por thiagigal) conveniently left English and kept Hindi arrested in their struggles. Its the denial of upbringing the whole society and stopping their growth within their state limits. Of-course there are times, were tamil helped me in translations, but at times, translation industry asked me to translate for the Hindi to Tamil pair, were I couldn't. So in turn Hindi to English and English to Tamil pair created for me, you can ask me there could job creation, but there is a huge monetary loss for me personally.
Now I am in the capital city of Telugu state/s Hyderabad, old Hyderabad brothers still insisting me to talk in Hindi, if you can speak telugu at home, but your Ola driver, swiggy supplier ask you to speak in Hindi. Its a struggle we go through daily, for the mistake someone did.
