“Language Access is a Human Right”

Language Access is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit incorporated in 2022 with the primary purpose of helping immigrant communities by improving communication, education, health, and cultural adjustment to build a more inclusive, just, and healthy future for everyone. The company's Executive Director, Milly Golia, has drawn on many decades of experience as Founder and CEO of BUREAUCOM LLC, an international translation and interpretation company serving clients ranging from large corporate entities to individuals. In recent years, Bureaucom has established offices throughout California. During this expansion, Milly saw firsthand how lack of language facilitation hinders the economic and social progress of vast swathes of the population. Language Access primarily focuses on the needs of the native Spanish-speaking community in California. It works under the federal Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and 2000 Executive Order 13166, which affirms Title VI's language access requirement and outlines additional requirements.

The mission of our foundation, "Language Access," is to make possible access to communication in any language,?especially for people who do not know how to get language access. We also share resources and information to help expand and improve language assistance services for individuals with limited English proficiency. Although federal and state departments are trying to comply with federal law, language access as a service is not present nationwide.
