The Landscape Has Changed, but the Connections Remain the Same
One of the many elements of my job that I love is getting to see people I have worked with over the years at our industry’s key conference, the ATP Innovations in Testing Conference. The event is always a wonderful networking opportunity. I get to learn more about what is going on in the industry, and I get to reunite with some of my best friends in the space.
After years of seeing so many people under one roof, I feel a huge loss from our inability to join this year’s conference in person due to COVID-19.
But there is always good that can come from hard times. At work, we have embraced all video conferencing technology. We use Microsoft Teams internally, and we use all other technologies when our partners prefer a different option. Because of this, I am able to see familiar industry faces more and more often, though we are limited in those conversations.
Now, I am going to have the best of both worlds during the virtual ATP 2020 Global Conference:
· I will get to see all of my friends and colleagues that I don’t often see together.
· More people will be able to attend because the conference will have worldwide involvement.
· I will get to chat “real-time” with other attendees while in sessions.
· I will be able to pull more of my company into the event to enjoy the experience.
I will still miss seeing everyone live. But I am excited for this virtual event and the chance to engage in this new “norm” that we are all working in.
Looking forward to seeing you all there in September.
