Landlord pollutes Johnson Creek with hundreds of gallons of toxic sewage
Last week we filed a $2.5 million lawsuit against a landlord accused of polluting Johnson Creek with toxic sewage.
The City of Portland recently held the landlord in violation of various health and safety codes.
Johnson Creek is one of Portland’s most important resources, originating in Boring, and traveling 26 miles west through Clackamas and Multnomah counties, before reaching its confluence with the Willamette River in Milwaukie.
In order to keep costs down and increase profits, according to our lawsuit, the landlord corporation, owned by Christopher Baird?and Eric Matson, flagrantly violated numerous environmental regulations, and allowed hundreds of gallons of toxic sewage to flow around and out of plaintiff’s home in the Lents neighborhood, and directly into Johnson Creek, polluting the surrounding soil and water.
