Will landlord losses shrink the private rented sector?

As we come to the end of the summer break and Parliament reconvenes, there’s still the results of the Tory leadership election and a government reshuffle ahead of us – and perhaps after that, some more clarity for the industry on rental reform plans. In the meantime, the slow summer season has still delivered some impactful news for our sector.

In the first story of the August PayProp Rent Report, we look at new figures showing that the UK private rented sector could lose tens of thousands of landlords this year – and consider what it may mean for the future.

Next up, university students are preparing to head back to the grindstone next month, but they’ll be facing other pressing concerns too – rising rents and housing shortages. We examine the outlook for student rentals.
