Landlord Events are worth their weight in Gold

For many years I have had the privilege of working with letting agents, estate agents, private landlords, local authorities, corporates, Build to Rent providers and Housing Associations training and providing support and advice all matters relating to the Private Rented Sector.

We have fostered key professional relationships with SMEs to Corporate Letting Agents and Institutional Landlords, and, we have always promoted the importance of CRM - Client Relationship Management to our client base. The reason behind this stems from my previous role with and global American company and although I was employed predominantly because I am fluent in French and Italian, the company required a CRM to foster stronger relationships with their disgruntled European intracompany accounts. I had no product knowledge of label manufacturing or barcoding solutions, but a skill set from my early days of customer service training. On a daily basis I was bombarded with challenges from complaints about late deliveries to poor product quality - I became the liaison between the manufacturing sites in the UK and the clients. I was fortunate enough to work with Nike, Levi, Galeries Lafayette, Renault, Next, M&S, Armani, Dolce & Gabbana, MaxMara and Dupont - fostering relationships to ensure that their expectations were met which often included taking a red-eye flight to resolve issues. It was through working with these organisations that I realised not only the way in which global organisation functions, but also the importance of the client relationships. There was special recipe to follow just listening and communicating effectively.

As a result of those years I have always promoted the importance of client relationship management to our client base, not necessarily with the belief that the client is always right because at times the landlords' viewpoint does not align with that of the letting agent. However, invested time and energy in these relationships not only builds trust, but most definitely leads to longevity of the professional relationship.

Yesterday was a testament to CRM and building strong client relationships. Our client took the time along with their team to put together a landlord event with the primary objective of informing the landlords about the Renters Rights Bill and whilst the presentations were excellent, the biggest take away of the day was that the landlords were clearly appreciative of what the letting agent had done for them. This was more than a legislative overview, this was a master class in Client Relationship Management - creating a sense of trust and community amongst landlords who all experience the same issues and require guidance and support.

Landlord Events are most definitely worth their weight in Gold.
