The Landing Space

On Friday morning last we launched a new initiative called The landing Space in Sligo. This project will provide an open plan, turnkey collaborative working environment for companies who wish to quickly and easily establish operations in the North West region. It is the latest strategic initiative by IDA Ireland to increase investments in regional locations and will greatly enhance our offering for new name companies into 2019 and beyond.

Over the past number of months myself and the regional team have been working closely with our colleagues in property to fit out the space with 66 desks, a number of break out rooms and everything a new name company would need to set up operation in Ireland. The space is priced on a per desk basis and includes all cleaning, kitchen facilities, coffee machine, 24 hour access, 1GB symmetrical broadband and access to board/break out rooms.

The project is a collaboration between IDA Ireland, IT Sligo and Sligo County Council showcasing the positive approach our local stakeholders are taking to attract new business into the North West.

We worked with local suppliers Clever Office to fit out the space and our intention was to create a bright, airy environment that can work for clients from all sectors. We brought one break room to life with an image of local big wave surf spot Mullaghmore and the board room now has a full vinyl image of Benbulben to reflect the local landscape.

We of course had to add in a little touch of WB Yeats..

Companies based in The Landing Space will benefit from the same level of broadband connectivity as available in leading international hubs such in locations like Tokyo and Hong Kong as Siro/Vodafone are supporting the project with the provision of Gigabit connectivity, the most powerful broadband available in Ireland.
