Landing pages are crucial to your User Interface and User experience.
If you have any business online your key performance indicators online (KPI) are most likely traffic, clicks, and CONVERSIONS. You want to make money, and to do this you need to be able to increase your conversions.
Your conversions are highly dependent on your UI/UX.
Take a look at some of the above numbers. Average is 2.35. This includes most websites as the definition of average is a single number taken from a list representative numbers. Not exactly where you want to be in terms of business! Think about how well their users experience (for lack of a better word) their websites and landing pages.
Your landing page is your target persons FIRST interaction with your company. What do you want your first impression to be? An ideal landing page gives them the rundown of what exactly to expect or feel from your business, and should always be joined by a call to action (CTA). The CTA is every button you see that says, buy now, shop here, click today or anything that requires your user to take action to move forward with your company.
Here, Acorns provides us with a perfect example.
They have a clear objective list laid out of what's in it for you followed by a clear call to action.
There is no doubt in the users mind in what to do next or what their options are.
In fact to solve this problem of lackluster landing pages, many software companies like Clickfunnels and Leadpages will very easily enable you to generate high converting landing pages. With building your new and improved landing pages, this is a great way to implement A/B testing as we have discussed earlier this year. You can try out multiple versions of your landing pages and concretely back up with statistics your highest achieving page.
But I already have a website, do I need a landing page? This largely depends on your industry or your specific goals. If you have a large presence online and are really adamant about conversions, a landing page is really the way to go. Some businesses now days can operate solely off of a landing page!
Other businesses are fine with having an informative web page, but make sure you have what your ideal user is looking for, and at least one clear call to action, these things work and should not be taken lightly.
Overall a well designed landing page can massively pay off, even if it only increases your conversion by 1% this can potentially be thousands of dollars your company previously let slide through the cracks. So start today!
