Landing Pages
It does not matter how much money you invest in remarketing, SEO, and social media ads. If you don't have a good landing page and website design these investments are useless. Why? Because it is difficult to have potential customers complete the marketing funnel when you link them to a site that doesn't make sense or is confusing for the user. What is a landing page? Landing pages are the pages that people land on when answering the call of actions from visitors. Companies may have multiple landing pages. This is used to have a different call to actions to target your different audiences. Having multiple landing pages also gives you the ability to use different and more keywords for your SEO. Some examples of where visitors come from to your different landing pages are through email, apps, and campaign ads.
Landing pages are the pages that people land on when answering the call of actions from visitors.
To create a quality landing page, it takes different web designers. With web design; there are letters by titles (UX, UI) that do not make sense till you know what the letters mean. It is important to understand the different type of designers in order to hire the right people to help make your company's website as user-friendly as possible.
Type of titles to know
- UX Designer(User experience designer) primarily focuses on how the user feels about the product. There focus on ensuring that the pages do not stop or confuse the user; to create the best user experience.
- UI Designer (User Interface Designer), A UI designer, is primarily concerned with how the product is laid out. They create analytic dashboards and are responsible for a designer a cohesive and consistent guide through the website.
- Visual Designers are concerned with making appealing icons, visual elements, and controls. In other words making the site pretty
- Motion Designer works any animation in an email, app, websites and landing pages. For example how a drag down page rolls up or down. How clicking on an icon how it will react.
- Front end Developer/ UI developers are responsible for implementing a functional interface for the product. They are responsible for the interaction that the motion designer comes up and to help the mock up the UI designer makes into an experience.
A good landing page depends on what your company goals are. There are some general rules you should think about when creating quality landing pages.
- 1. Simple and Clear- Here is an example that from the company Wistia. They are video hosting site that allows businesses to use video marketing tools with analytics. In this example, we can see that Wistia has a non-distracting background with a clear call to action. This landing page is for people who already know what Wistia is. This is common for landing pages linked to remarketing ads.
- 2. Clear Call to Action- Lyft is a company that attracts two different types of users. 1. Users that use their app to get rides and bring them to locations similar to Uber or a taxi. 2. People to drive these cars to pick people and take them to locations for money. This is an excellent example of their call to action by for their customers that are interested in being Lyft drivers. Their call to action attracts different types of people who are interesting in driving for Lyft. One is for people who are ready to sign up for Lyft, and the other is for people who want more information on driving with Lyft before they convert.
3. Be Visually Appealing- Having a site that is visually appealing attracts customers by being inviting, interesting, or exciting. On what ways you plan on being appealing depends on your company's objectives but is something important to keep in mind.
