You've seen a job ad that sounds perfect, because you meet all (or most) of the qualifications. So you apply ...
Then you wait ... and wait ... but all you hear are crickets.
It's easy to get frustrated when you aren't landing jobs (or even interviews) when you're qualified. After all, you hear there's supposed to be a shortage of candidates, right?
While there is a shortage of candidates for certain jobs (restaurant/bar, low wage hourly, entry level, front-line hourly manufacturing, truck drivers, doctors and nurses), these are probably not the jobs you're applying for. The jobs you're applying for (Professional, Sr. level, management, executive, C-level) have job shortages, because 80M+ currently employed workers + 8M unemployed compete for 11M jobs. When there are almost 10 times more job seekers than advertised jobs, it's a job shortage - It happens in every recovery.
So you have many other qualified competitors ... what can you do to stand out?
While there are many successful strategies to stand out against many qualified competitors, they boil down to one basic concept: When everyone else is qualified, being qualified makes you average.
This means you need to aim higher than qualified, by doing more than others in your resume, interviews and job search strategy, if you want to accelerate your job search and land offers.
It's a problem for most job seekers, because you've been taught to portray yourself as qualified by your friends/mentors, outplacement, and most career coaches/authors. You've been taught to apply randomly to many jobs, and hope you get lucky. This strategy may have worked in 2019, but it's a recipe for a long frustrating job search today.
Why not learn how to change your resume/interview/job search process to portray yourself as the top candidate, so you can land job offers even when competing against many other qualified candidates? While we're at it, I'll show you how to accelerate your job search, whether it's going well currently or needs serious help.
This is the 3rd job market recovery cycle I've recruited/coached through, so I've seen first hand what resume and job search strategies accelerate job searches during recovering job markets. I've also seen mistakes candidates make, causing their recovery job searches to slow to a crawl. I've been through this before and know what works and what doesn't.
As a top national recruiter who reads hundreds of resumes per day, who has helped hundreds of thousands of candidates in their job search, and seen thousands of employers' job search processes from the inside, I've got a different perspective than most career coaches.
I see that most job seekers do essentially the same things, even when they think they are job searching differently. I also see most job seekers were taught search methods that eliminate them from consideration, because they conflict with the employer's hiring process.
But I've been teaching job seekers to drastically improve their job searches for 14 years by using non-traditional resume/job search strategies that demonstrate impact rather than just being average. I'll show you how to find a job by year end by understanding employers' point of view and hiring processes ... and using this understanding to beat your competition.
(I'm not just a career coach. I've also been a top national recruiter for the last 17 years ... so you'll get advice from an insider's point of view.)
Let me show you what you can do now to change your job search and resume so you can find your next job by the end of the year, even if you're between jobs, over 40, trying to change careers/industry/location, if your industry is in decline/consolidation, trying to overcome long term career gaps, family leave, find a remote job, turnaround your job search or other tough to solve job search problems.
