The Land of Enchantment has lived up to its maxim.

As a pharmacist performing a multitude of activations to help provide other pharmacists and healthcare providers solutions to improve their practices with knowledge of functional medicine and up-to-date, modern technology and research, I have seen many healthcare facilities and pharmacies in my travels around the world. Coming to Albuquerque, New Mexico though was a pleasantly surprising experience and one that will forever leave its mark in my itineraries.

Modern Alchemist is the newest locally-owned compounding pharmacy with a focus on providing the highest of standards in quality and innovative personalized medicine in Albuquerque. And with the word ‘modern’ at the forefront of its name, I was expecting the contemporary to shine through. I was ecstatic to see the love and passion that was involved in coming up with this facility. I have not come across any pharmacies yet with the state-of-the-art, world-class set up as Modern Alchemist Compounding Pharmacy.

The moment you walk into Modern Alchemist Compounding Pharmacy, your five senses are immediately activated. The pharmacy itself has its own beauty and prestige not seen anywhere in the country with its tranquil zen-like interior of black metal cabinets, light maple floors, and amber glass bottles intermingling in perfect harmony. And having been in Albuquerque for the past few days to deliver the S3 Scanner to Modern Alchemist to help set up the pharmacy with an additional tool to provide the State of New Mexico community at large a new facet to focus on health, wellness, and prevention, the tremendous compassion, care and commitment witnessed of the lead pharmacist and staff to serve their community is beyond.

Engaging in conversations with Dr. Nawid Farhad, PharmD, RPh, PhC - the alchemist - it reveals how truly he is committed to serving the community and to bring wellness prevention personalization of medicine. While I was around the pharmacy, I witnessed the pharmacist’s time commitment towards his patients. As a pharmacist, I am well aware we do not always have enough time to spend with our patients to go over medications or to counsel them fully while they come to pick up their medications. However, I witnessed Dr. Farhad spend ample time with a single patient to talk about health, wellness, and lifestyle medicine that brought me to think this is what we are supposed to be doing as healthcare providers - listen actively, be compassionate, and go above and beyond given our extensive training to keep our patients healthy and at their optimal wellness.

My perception of New Mexico has forever changed since arriving. I would like to congratulate you Albuquerque for your newest center for health, wellness, and personalized medicine.
