Lancer Family,
As we reflect on the incredible journey of our 2014 La Salle football team this season, we can’t help but feel an overwhelming sense of pride and inspiration. This past Friday night, our Lancers made history once again by clinching a spot in the Final Four with a resounding 38-6 victory over Mount Healthy in the Division II, Region 6 final at Atrium Stadium in Mason. With this monumental win, our team now stands at an impressive 12-1 record, ready to face the undefeated Lewis Center Olentangy on November 28 at Welcome Stadium.
A Testament to Dedication and Teamwork
This victory is not just a score but a testament to the unwavering dedication, hard work, and teamwork our players and coaching staff have shown all season long. Coach Nate Moore expressed the pride that swells in our hearts as we represent our area on this grand stage. “It’s an honor and a privilege,” he shared. “I am proud of our guys—they have worked hard for this.”
Indeed, the Lancers have demonstrated excellence in every phase of the game—offense, defense, and special teams. Junior running back Jeremy Larkin led the charge and rushed for an astounding 265 yards and two touchdowns. His remarkable performance earned him the title of the Associated Press Southwest District Division II offensive player of the year and propelled him over the 2,000 rushing yard mark this season. As Coach Moore stated, “He’s the best back in the state; there is no doubt.”
Together We Rise
The spirit of Lancer Nation is alive and well, as we witnessed our players rise to every challenge on the field. From the opening drive, where we showcased determination and strategy, to the final whistle, our Lancers exemplified what it means to play with heart. The offensive line paved the way for not just one but multiple explosive plays, including Jarell White’s impressive three-touchdown performance.
Defensively, our Lancers were relentless. Senior defensive lineman Adam McBee and junior John Willcox led the charge, ensuring Mount Healthy’s attempts were met with formidable resistance. Our defense's grit and tenacity were instrumental in limiting our opponents and allowing only one touchdown.
Celebrating Our Journey
As we gear up for the state semifinals, let us not forget the journey that has brought us here. Each game, each practice, and each moment shared has built the foundation of our success. We have witnessed young athletes transform into seasoned competitors, driven by a shared vision and a commitment to excellence.
To our players, coaches, and everyone involved in Lancer Nation, thank you for your hard work, dedication, and spirit. You have inspired not only each other but our entire community. The road to the Final Four is a remarkable achievement and a testament to what we can accomplish when we unite for a common goal.
Let's continue to rally behind our team as they prepare for the next challenge. Together, we rise and will make memories that will last a lifetime.
Go Lancers! The Final Four awaits!
With pride and excitement.
