Lancer Nation Celebrates: The Journey to Glory

Dear Lancer Family,

What a remarkable journey it has been! On a chilly Friday night at Ohio Stadium, our La Salle Lancers etched their names into the annals of high school football history by bringing home the coveted state championship trophy for the first time. With a 55-20 victory over Macedonia's Nordonia Knights, the Lancers secured a title and set a new Division II state final record for points scored.

This victory is not just a testament to the skills and dedication of our players but also a reflection of the resilience and spirit of our entire school community. From the first playoff game on November 7th to the jubilant celebration on December 5th, the past 15 weeks will forever be cherished as a defining era for La Salle football.

Under the guidance of coach Nate Moore, the Lancers displayed relentless determination and teamwork throughout the season. “I’m so proud of our players; we spent 15 weeks building this together,” Moore said, his pride evident as he celebrated with his team. Their hard work culminated in an unforgettable performance that showcased talent across the board. Notably, junior running back Jeremy Larkin, an Associated Ohio Mr. Football finalist, rushed for 104 yards and scored two touchdowns. At the same time, his cousin, senior defensive back Avery Larkin, electrified the crowd with a 44-yard interception return for a touchdown.

The night began with a bang as La Salle took an early lead, setting the tone for a historic performance. The Lancers quickly established dominance, never trailing in the game. The momentum shifted into high gear with each touchdown scored, each tackle made, and each cheer from the stands. Senior center Tim Roell captured the sentiment perfectly when he said, “It’s a huge win for this school and this community.”

The excitement grew as the clock ticked down in the second half. The Lancers, known for their explosive offense, averaged an astonishing 47.5 points per game during the postseason. This game was no exception, as they not only put points on the board but did so with style and flair. The running clock in the second half was a clear indicator of their execution and mastery of the game.

La Salle’s victory is a beacon of hope and a source of pride for all of us. It signifies that hard work and perseverance can lead to greatness. “La Salle has a name for itself now,” said senior defensive lineman Jordan Thompson. “We have respect. We can throw our name in the hat with the others.”

As we reflect on this incredible season, we celebrate the championship and the stories and memories created along the way. This journey has united us all, from the thrilling victories against powerhouse teams to the camaraderie forged among coaches, players, and our community.

Let’s continue to honor the legacy of the La Salle Lancers, carrying the spirit of this championship season into the future. Here’s to the players, especially our seniors, who, through their leadership, kept this team grounded as it navigated this incredible milestone. Also, thanks to the coaches, the community, and the fans who made this achievement possible!

Together, we are Lancer Nation—stronger, prouder, champions.

Congratulations, Lancers! 2014 was just the start of what was to come.
