LA/LB Ports
As the transition continues through the end of April, I wish to Thank our Hosts as Myself and Chief O ‘Keefe toured the LA/LB Ports, where 40% of consumable goods are transitioned from overseas, then distributed via rail and truck across the United States. Though not quite at pre pandemic levels, (getting close) the “chain supply” system from ship to truck has increased due to the diligent and thoughtful work of all involved at these two Ports. We were able to witness anywhere from 60 to 80 cargo containers an hour being off loaded from the ships (yes, multiple ships) onto trucks, then off to pre determined locations to distribution centers, onto our retailers, then consumers. A special Thanks to those pictured who took time out of their day, from left to right, Chief O ‘Keefe, Security Director Jill Taylor, LA Ports Chief of Police Tom Gazsi and Myself.
