The Lake

By the lake it's good to see
Lots of wildlife living free
Children out on their boats with their parents having fun
Laughing as they all enjoy the warmth of the days sun
Sounds of birdsong fills the air
A lovely fresh breeze gently kisses your hair
Sun light reflecting on the water
An artistic painting to be sought after
A peaceful setting where memories are made
Cherished thoughts and times that will never fade
A robin sits observing from its tree
Taking in the scenery
Fish jumping in the lake below
And a small child full of wonder enjoys the show
A fisherman casts off his line
Hoping for luck this one last time
Whilst a bunch of ducks fly overhead
And an old man passing nods his head
A worthwhile trip to the lake
To sit quietly observing with tea and cake
And watch the mini stories taking place
Adding a smile and natural glow upon your face
The best therapy you will always find
Is to connect with nature to help you unwind
