Lake Barrington Announces No Increase to Local Property Tax Levy
The Lake Barrington Board of Trustees voted unanimously at its November board meeting to freeze the current residential property tax levy and implement no new residential property tax increase next year.
Lake Barrington’s ability to hold the current tax levy reflects both the Village’s disciplined management of taxpayer dollars and its commitment to economic development. Over the past few years, Lake Barrington has welcomed several new businesses and worked to expand its economic base, strengthening the Village’s financial position.
“The Board of Trustees and I work to be good stewards of our residents’ hard-earned tax dollars, and we’re pleased to see that effort pay off so that our residents can avoid an increase in the Village property tax levy for the upcoming year,” said Lake Barrington Mayor Kevin Richardson. “Our efforts have allowed Lake Barrington to remain an excellent place to both run a business and call home. We look forward to continuing to grow and strengthen Lake Barrington’s mission of being an oasis for gracious countryside living for our residents.”
