The Lake Baringo basin, a critical ecological and cultural hotspot in Kenya's Rift Valley, is facing severe land degradation due to human activities like charcoal burning, overgrazing, and tree felling. these actions accelerate desertification, threatening biodiversity, agricultural productivity, and local livelihoods.
At Plus One Tree Initiative , we are committed to reversing this trend by promoting tree planting, sustainable land management, and ecosystem restoration. guided by the objectives of the UNCCD, we aim to restore degraded lands, enhance biodiversity conservation, and secure resilient livelihoods for the community. This effort is not just about planting trees, it's about empowering communities to take charge of their future while healing the land. together, we can combat desertification and build a more sustainable future.
