Leeds Area Improvement Programme (2) at Bradford Forster Square Station.

Our aim is to fulfil the Train Operator / DfT franchise commitments extending the London Kings Cross - Leeds service to BFS station to align with the Bradford City of Culture 2025 and May 2025 timetable change.

A challenging project overlapping development, design and delivery stages to introduce a new platform 0 at BFS, which includes a new track and overhead line (OLE) layout into the station and associated re signalling. Network Rail are working in collaboration with our partners BAM, CRSA, Volker Rail and their supply chains to deliver this multi disciplined project.

The last few weekends, during extended track possessions and OLE isolations we have installed the new S&C turnout from the main line into Platform 0, installed the new S&C cross over, re configured the OLE throughout the station including new OLE structures, commence the civils works to build the new platform and canopy structure.

There are many challenges ahead but the teams are working together to deliver the challenging and exciting scheme that will provide benefits to the rail industry and the regional & local communities next year.
