Social Care Summit NORTH 2025 – Innovation in Care - LaingBuisson Events

As I prepare to have an enforced layoff of 4-5 weeks (not my choice but a necessity), these are exciting times as we put the finishing touches on the LaingBuisson Social Care Summit North (The Northern powerhouse) and Innovation in Care Summit in February in Manchester.

Manchester City’s Etihad Stadium on 13th February will witness the first coming together of these two hard-hitting summits. It has been fascinating, as a northerner now based in London, to uncover so much good stuff in the North of England and the UK.

Almost all speakers are confirmed and more to be revealed over the next month. This is a first, combining the energy of the Northern powerhouse with the innovative forces in social care.

As director of the Summits, I will do my best as ever to build a team experience for everyone who shares in the day. I want simply to showcase the issues so that people can share experience, expertise and learning. There will be a great exhibition space, and the following is only a sample of the areas we will cover:

·?????? How the devolution of health and care has affected the delivery of care services, has it led to greater integration and better care for individuals?

·?????? The environment for investment in the care in the North;

·?????? New models of care involved in radical place-based leadership;

·?????? How Covid has changed the sector and unleashed an innovative streak born out of necessity;

·?????? The regulatory pressures in the North;

·?????? The workforce pressures;

·?????? The innovative breakthroughs in care for people living with dementia;

·?????? How care at home is evolving and the possibilities for greater involvement of the care community in two of the major government shifts;

o?? Sickness to prevention; and

o?? Hospital to home.

·?????? The potential for greater sharing of data leading to better health and wellbeing for all.

I am particularly enthused that we bring together a range of players in the care sector from CEOs of some of the leading care providers in the UK, to local community-led groups making innovative care a reality on the ground, to leaders in tech and care We are even involving the UK’s first Centre for Excellence in Music & Dementia in a section dedicated to care for people living with dementia.
