Lack of SELF-CARE
The iThrive
Our vision is to create healthier, happier, lifestyle-disease free communities across the world every single day.
We work with a lot of people when it comes to helping them with their chronic diseases, and making lifestyle changes. And many individuals believe that there are too many obstacles to changing one's lifestyle, such as time, priorities, money, and so on.
But the biggest obstacle I've seen to actual healing is the one that comes from inside. And that obstacle is when people do not really have enough self-love to care for themselves.
So, as a coach, a healer, a therapist, a nutritionist, or whatever name you want to give me, I've observed that it's really a?lack of love for yourself, a lack of care for yourself,?that gets in the way of healing. A pattern of self-sabotage emerges as a result of this.?
But if you truly cared about yourself, if you truly loved yourself, you would then think of all the things you need to do for yourself? When it comes to food, for example, when you need to eat the right food, you plan ahead of time, you stock up on supplies, and if you don't have the time to cook for yourself, you hire someone or get someone to supply the food that you require, because you are concerned about what is going on inside your body.
People always give me a long list of reasons why they are unable to work on their health. The largest challenge is usually not having that deep, fundamental desire to do whatever it takes to improve your health, whether it's correcting your surroundings, which includes the people in that area, or putting procedures in place. It all comes from a lack of self-care.
And I'm aware of why this occurs. We've all been taught since childhood to believe that we're not good enough. There is an innate sense of I am not good enough. That is present in many of us. It's pretty deep conditioning, and a lot of trauma comes in and adds that program to our thoughts as well.
It needs work. It needs a lot of emotional healing. It needs a lot of somatic work. It needs a lot of psychological, and spiritual work. That path does exist. It isn't always the simplest path, but it is the one you must choose. That's the path you'll need to travel to figure out why you don't have enough basic love for yourself to do things for yourself.?
