Lack Of Federal Participation Makes Business Very Difficult In The Space- But whats the impact on our Veterans?

Here is the good news:

The U.S. Patent and Trademark Office issued a memo clarifying that it will approve applications to register certain CBD and hemp products in light of the 2018 Farm Bill's legalization of the crop. So those of us that are producing superior genetics, leading to products that can positively impact Epilepsy, Autism, depression, sleep deprivation, PTSD etc. Can almost begin executing businesses with only one hand tied behind our back.

Many in the Congress are trying. At the state level, there is a clear appreciation for the medical and financial implication of Cannabis/Hemp. Health outcomes are improving; more research is being conducted in virtually every medicinally legal state (now up to 33 and more coming on line imminently); businesses are being formed rapidly, many new jobs have been created and tax revenue has been estimated at $1.3billion, in recreational states.

What does any of this have to do with our military — Here is one of the worst ironies. Our military, that have served gallantly, protecting america participating are increasingly coming home with PTSD. Extensive research has PROVEN that Cannabis and CBD combinations can have a major positive impact on PTSD. Our military gets most of its medical support from the VA (Veteran’s Administration), which is controlled Federally. Cannabis is still “class 1 (has no medicinal impact) at the federal level. (same as Opiates, Heroin and LSD).

So guess who will not support/prescribe Cannabis/CBD for their patients — Right! The VA. What does that force our Military to do….Secure street product, leave the country, or seek out medical support in “legal states” that WILL NOT be covered by insurance.

What does that really mean — The government and the FDA knows the medicinal value of Cannabis. Our military needs this solution/prescription — The VA will not give it to them. The reason — — politics.

Seems like everything in our life today is increasingly controlled by a government that is more focused on “party politics” and lobby money, than helping our returning soldiers. Where is the fairness in America that I grew up so proud of?????
