LaborClear Monitoring

LaborClear is a monthly monitoring service which will alert you of an employee or volunteers arrest within the United States. Once an employee is hired, or volunteer is on-boarded, most organizations no longer look into that individuals’ background. Now, employers and volunteer organizations have a way to continually monitor employees after their hire.

 LaborClear is an instant computerized search of a massive database of over 500 million records. National criminal databases, which are also referred to as multi-jurisdictional databases, can be a key part of the background screening process, helping to catch applicants as well as current employees by using a wider pool of information than is readily available for standard criminal history searches.

 What have they done in the past 12 months?

LaborClear is recommended for all employees. Has your employee been arrested or had a court case as a result of a crime committed in the past year? Are they currently on probation? Has their driving record deteriorated? Everyone knows, a lot can happen during the course of 12 months. Every 30 days we run a multi-jurisdictional criminal records search. If there are any new records since last search we investigate and verify.

 Statistically speaking, if you have 20 or more employees, one of them has most likely committed a crime since you hired them. The non-profit National Employment Law Project recently analyzed the Survey of State Criminal History Information Systems to estimate that approximately 70-million Americans – or roughly 1 in 3 adults – has some type of criminal conviction. If you have people in sensitive positions or working with vulnerable populations like children and senior citizens, maintaining a squeaky-clean workforce is critical.
