Let's All Help the Recovery Efforts
Good Saturday morning all and welcome to our 7th edition of "With That Said" (WTS), a weekly LinkedIn newsletter powered by your friends at Supply Chain Now .
We want to begin today with a call for support. We've all seen the terrible tragedy play out in recent days across Cuba, Puerto Rico and Florida due to Hurricane Ian. The damage in the Carolinas, is still being assessed. Beyond our prayers & best wishes, if you're in position to donate any amount to the critical relief efforts already underway, check out a short list of trusted resources that Scott Luton has gathered & shared here.
And if we can celebrate anything today, it's how these recovery efforts bring out the absolute BEST in people & greater humanity. For example, look at what one business owner, based in Apollo Beach, FL, is doing. Sean & Aine Rice (pictured below) own The Salty Shamrock Bar in the Tampa area. Their business was spared the worst of the hurricane's fury, so the Rices are opening the bar back up to serve as a recovery center for those in need of: ice, power, hot food, news/information & more.
“I'm trying to get the pub open today because there's so many people that have no power. So, I'm trying to get some hot food up to them and they can watch the news and compare notes," says Sean Rice.
For our team, incredible gestures like this certainly go a long way to restoring our faith in humanity (as Scott likes to say).
