Kyrish Truck Centers, the End of an Era

Since 1976, the Kyrish family, helmed by patriarch Ed, then sons Duane and Wayne, followed by grandsons Jeff and Marcus, has led a group of International Truck and IC Bus dealers across Texas. They have led their company with over a dozen locations in a way that has made us feel like part of their family. The Kyrish family navigated recessions, engine failures, and even pandemics with grace and leadership.

Wayne, Ed, and Duane hold up a cake, celebrating one of their many milestones and achievements.

As the company grew, so did the family, with different family members in roles across the company from recruiting to management. Whether family or not, we were all made to feel welcomed and included and truly a part of the family, and our work was always important and appreciated. For the last three and half years, I have been privileged to have more than a passing role in the company, being able to work alongside the family on many occasions.

Through my role as an outside salesman, I have been able to connect with people who have been impacted by the family and the way they conducted business. One school district transportation director told me he used to go by Ed's office after work and talk for hours. It wasn't always about business, but it was always about connections.

Over the last month, I have been having conversations with customers about the upcoming sale of the company and how it will look going forward. There have been a lot of questions, but what has struck me the most is the respect the family has throughout the industry and the well wishes I have heard along the way. Today, as operations wind down to get ready for new owners, I had a customer have to sit down to process that the family is leaving their business behind.

It truly is the end of an era and I can't express my own gratitude enough to the Kyrish family for all of the opportunities they have given all of us. Here's to the future.
