Kyoto Fushimi Municipal High School 京都市立伏見中学校 Kuretake Fujita 藤田呉竹

This is the Kyoto Fushimi Municipal High School, where one of my ancestors, Kuretake Fujita (Shosai Fujita's grabdson) studied as a youth ?? It was called another name before.

Kuretake was a well known doctor and a very famous Haiku poet (You will find out later ??).

Kuretake really loved this school. He recollected Mr. Ishihara Sadataka, who taught him baseball and Kunio Kosasa.

Kuretake even states Mr. Ishihara, was the founder of baseball in Fushimi, Kyoto.

But his favorite teacher, was an interesting Mr. Uchida, a former samurai of the Yodo domain.

The Yodo domain was created by Matsudaira Sadatsuna, the nephew of Tokugawa Ieyasu.

Yodo castle, inside the Yodo domain, was also the birthplace of Toyotomi Hideyoshi's son, Toyotomi Hidenori.

Mr. Uchida, Kuretake's favorite teacher, was a samurai of daimyo Inaba Masakuni, the last samurai daimyo of the Yodo domain.

Inaba Masakuni, during the Battle of Toba Fushimi, refused to allow the Tokugawa Yoshinobu forces to enter the Yodo domain in Fushimi, Kyoto.

He was later made a viscount after the Meiji revolution.

This school based upon Kuretake's words, is one of those special places he held dear within his heart ?? In all schools, we find a beginning, and itd the teachers that define those schools, teachers as Ishihara, Kosasa, and Mr. Uchida ?
