Kudos to Disney Plus for airing The Muppets uncut on Stars

I am proud of Disney for airing this show uncut. It has been a great conversation starter for everyone. At the start people say The Muppets? how is that offensive but then as we start watching, we realize all the stuff we watched and thought was ok as kids and now watch it and say ooh that was very inappropriate.

From watching the episodes, I have noted a few comments about spots I found very offensive when looking back.

Season 1

Episode 1

  • This episode features the around the house fat joke and starts with the guest beating up a male Muppet in a bar.

Episode 2

  • The guy with the bomb felt a bit inappropriate for kids but was not as bad as the scenes that came later.
  • The scene starts with a woman alone with a bunch of monsters in a bar getting drunk and saying that tomorrow she will regret it. The very inappropriate part comes when the critics comment talks about going to get a young girl.
  • After another scene the critic references the other critic jumping off the balcony which alludes to him committing suicide.

Episode 3

  • During the dance scene the "Asian Flu" reference and the punch line is that the cure is "fortune cookies"

More to come as I continue to binge watch it. If you know of specific things in specific episodes feel free to comment. Would love to hear them.
