KTL monthly: June 2024
Welcome to #KTL’s monthly newsletter where we bring you the latest company updates, and highlights from recent weeks.
To celebrate Clean Air Day on June 20th, we were thrilled to share the results of #KTL's anti-idling campaign over the last 12 months.
- 65% #Reduction in Idling Hours: Our determined efforts have led to a substantial reduction in vehicle idling across the company.
- #Saving 1,231 Kgs of CO2 Per Month: This reduction means significant CO2 savings each month, equivalent to boiling the kettle 200,490 times or driving for 5,535 miles / 8908 kilometres.
These achievements have helped reduce fuel consumption and cut down fuel costs but also play a vital role in ensuring cleaner air for the communities across the UK and Ireland where we work, live, and play.
Additionally, KTL is in the process of expanding our fleet of electric vehicles, adding 10 this year so far, which has further contributed to our environmental goals.
Thank you to all our employees for their dedication to our anti-idling campaign.
We are committed to building on this progress as we move forward.
#KTL are delighted to have achieved FTA Ireland VanSafe Standard. The audit highlighted KTL’s excellent systems to manage and monitor transport operations ensuring they are legally compliant.
The VanSafe standard is leading the way in providing independent verification of compliance standards for commercial fleet operators. With more regulatory compliance and focus through the Commercial Vehicle Operator Risk Index (CVORI) on defining compliance standards FTAI auditing standards are driving a culture of compliance whilst also rewarding and recognising members who operate to the highest levels of professionalism.
FTAI audits are recognised by the Road Safety Authority, Health & Safety Authority and the insurance sector as proactive and effective risk management programmes.
Donal Gray commented, “We are delighted to retain this accreditation for another year. KTL take driver safety very seriously and we want every driver to get home safe every day. VanSafe which is completed by FTAI help us ensure our fleet policies are enforced.”
Edgar Peneda was recently honoured with the KTL Values Award for Customer Objectives.
This recognition is a testament to his hard work and dedication. “I am incredibly proud and honoured to pick up this KTL Values Award,” said Edgar. “This recognition is a testament to the crew's hard work, dedication, and commitment to ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for everyone on site.”

Looking forward to diving into the KTL June '24 Newsletter! As a patent lawyer, I'm particularly interested in any updates on intellectual property (IP) law or legal tech advancements. Is there a specific area of focus in this month's newsletter that might be relevant to patent lawyers?
