This past week, September 11th—13th, 2019, The Kentucky Trucking Association announced the 2019 recipient of the state’s “Safety Director of the Year.”
This prestigious award went to Beau Mosley, CDS, from Usher Transport, Inc. in Louisville, KY. Mr. Mosley’s nomination was made earlier during the year by his employer. After several months of discreet committee reviews in Frankfort, KY., a winner was selected from the pool of talented professionals also pursuing this award.
The winner of this award has to have displayed impeccable leadership, personal integrity and demonstrated their ability in safety leadership to set the bar, not only for their motor carrier but within the industry to which they diligently serve.
Mr. Mosley has been, and remains to be, a proven leader in every aspect of his career. Chosen as the Officer-of-the-Year, three times, by the Kentucky State Police during his tenure with the KSP, and receiving numerous accolades from the National Tank Truck Carriers Association, The American Trucking Associations, and The Kentucky Trucking Association, Mr. Mosley is a rising star within the tank-truck industry.
Mr. Mosley is a hands-on Safety Director spending many hours in the field conducting site audits, safety inspections, and listening to the concerns of those he serves. Whether it is the critical thinking skills of drafting policy or implementing strategic organizational change in safety, Kentucky’s 2019 Safety Director of the Year embodies everything the trucking industry could hope for in an individual who places incalculable value in safety and risk management
“If, four years ago when you and I met, someone had said, “There’s Kentucky’s Safety Director of the Year in years to come,” I would not have doubted it. Subsequently, I would not have projected it would come only four short years later. Beau, you have accomplished something that few Safety Directors are able to do in such short tenure in the trucking industry. Today, you have been selected as the Safety Director of the Year for the state of Kentucky, representing the trucking industry.”
