It is hard to believe that his day is here! We are seeing parades and celebrations in universities and in cities. Only 85 years ago today this happened, I was born in 1956, 11 years after WWII (1945) and Kristallnacht (1938). the images of the Holocaust were seared into my memory, and I will never forget.
Then General Eisenhower had the foresight to document this because he knew that humans forget! He knew that without reminders, we would forget the incident, and more importantly, the lesson!
It is inherently Jewish to forget, as the Old Testament is replete with stories of how the Jews turned away from their faith. Only to return to it when there was an imperative, this is the return to Jerusalem, physically and intellectually.
As a Christian, I align with my Jewish brothers and sisters, not for being Jews, but for being sons and daughters of Abraham, of which I am adopted in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
In the past five years, and has intensified over the last 3 years, there is a "forgetting" movement, reminiscent of the Taliban's destruction of the Great Statue of Buddha in Afghanistan. We lose sight of our heritage and history, which includes both good and bad as judged by present-day SJW Historians. This is as if the ereasure of history will in fact cure what ails us!

Sadly, we repeat what we forget, which brings us full circle, Kristallnacht! Will we remember it as a sad occurrence of something that happened to some people, or remember that evil has a face and a name?
Final note: We treat history with an irreverent when it is inconvenient and we accept it as truth when it fits our biases and prejudices. Yet history is a window into the past that must be interpreted in context to gain its fullest understanding. In light of 1933-40 Germany, what was Kristallnacht and for today, what lesson does it impart today? ZAKAR! #standwithIsrael For more information.
