Kristi Noem and the Wussification of America
The New York Post gleefully reported on April 30, 2024 that “Kristi Noem has ‘no shot’ as Trump’s VP pick after puppy-killing controversy.” Such sentiment is echoed by other never Trump, neocon outlets and echoed by the left.
For those like me whose father was raised on a farm putting down animals was normal. I have put down sick and old dogs. It is the humane thing to do.
Not so for the Neocons and Liberals who would rather drop their sick or aggressive or old ?pets off at the veterinarian’s office to be “humanely” euthanized. No fuss, no muss. The same crowd that feeds their kids chicken nuggets all week but sends money to PETA to stop farmers from killing chickens and cows.
I’ll take a tough but fair and competent woman like Kristi Noem as a Vice President over a Mitt Romney-like wimp or that Neocon from South Carolina Nicky Hailey.? The squalls erupting over Noem’s actions on the farm, too include hunting elk and other wild game is indicia of her fitness for office and capacity to rebuff the waves of abuse sure to crash over any Trump running mate.
The fact that so many have their panties in a knot over what is common farm life behavior is also indicia of the wussification of America: squeamishness at anything having to do with animals other than feeding them at a petting zoo; vilification of anything to do with the outdoors and hunting; and, general lack of physical fitness.? Kristi Noem is smart, politically savvy, tough and according to most of my heterosexual male friends, hot!? She is a perfect running mate for Donald.? I hope he has the wisdom and intestinal fortitude to ignore the caterwauling from the media on this point.

6 个月OK, but also... Life on a farm isn't wasteful or cruel. The actions she took were not sensible or normal for farm life, and do not display the level of intelligence or moral code that earns a leadership position. On our working farms, we sold or traded animals, and would shoot them out of mercy when they were beyond saving with injury or illness or if we needed to eat, but never shoot them for being animals. Farm animals are valuable, & you are responsible for being smarter than your animals. If you can't train a puppy not to kill game, you're clearly not a dog trainer. If you can't stand a goat being a Billy, you're clearly not a farmer. If she can't emotionally handle something, she kills it to stop it from bothering her? That's a concerning lack of skill , problem- solving capacity and basic empathy. She'd have been fired. She could have made the hard choice to be humble, sent those animals to someone who knew wth they were doing. Then she lied about meeting Kim Jong Un, and more. If her actions seem bright, I ask: compared to who? I'm IQ 140s, not bright, but even I can see these are traits of psychopathy and emotional issues. Is killing her foreign policy style too? History shows this behavior doesn't work in leadership.
