Krishna Bhakti & Innocent Sahadev
This is my most favourite Story in MahaBharath.
When it was about to start the Mega war of MahaBharath at Kurukshethra, the Maleficent Duryodhana who knew that Sahadev, the Great Astrologer and Equestrian out of the Five pandavas, went straight to him and asked him, the Innocent Sahadev, - "Sahadev, My brother, you are a Great Astrologer, I know that and appreciate that fact, Please tell me one thing, We the Kauravas should begin the war at what day so that we can win the War"
Sahadev being Innocent said to Duryodhan - " Brother, as per my caculations of the stars and the sky - I am sure that you (kauravas) will win the war if you people start the war on a Amavasya ( no moon day or new moon day)" Duryodhan left the place after praising Sahadev and thinking that kauravas will definitely win the war and went to inform Shakuni.
Mean while Innocent Sahadev met Shri krishna and was not able to control his mouth from telling the story of his Exact Prediction about the war's beginning to Duryodhan. Shri Krishna, the Master, smiled - " oh Sahadev, what have u done, can anyone will give a prophecy of one's own Death that too by his known Enemy"
Shri Krishna went to a Pond and sat there for doing the ritual called Dharpanam, the worship of ancestors, cutomarily done on a day of Amavasya ( New Moon day). The Sun God and the Moon God who knew it is the Supreme Lord who is doing the Dharpanam, came running to the Pond to meet the Lord and tell him as to " How can be Dharpanam performed on a day before Amavasya, as the said day is to happen only tomorrow".
Sri Krishna, the Master of Masters, who was sitting between the Sun God on his left and the Moon God on his Right - stepped back so that they meet on the same straight line. Sri Krishna asked with a smile - what is the defintion of Amavasya - they said when the Sun and the Moon meet on a straight line. - The Lord Sri Krishna said - It has happened now and so today is of course Amavasya, the monthly phenomenon.
The Sun God and the Moon God bowed to the God knowing the reason that he wanted to save the Innocent and righteous Pandavas from the Malevolent and wicked Kauravas and left to their respective abode.
I love and treasure this story because everytime, some one says to me Your time is not Good, I have told this story to myself and consoled that Sri Krishna is there for me, whether my time (past, present or future) is Good or not.
