KPMG condemns all forms of racism and discrimination

KPMG condemns all forms of racism and discrimination

Dear colleagues,

The appalling deaths of George Floyd and other Black people are a painful reminder of how far the world must still go to end racism and discrimination.

It would be a mistake to think that the underlying issues only exist in the United States. These issues affect all of us, wherever we call home. Ending bigotry and racism, institutional or otherwise, and treating all people fairly with dignity and respect is a universal goal.

KPMG is as diverse as our global footprint, and many of our KPMG colleagues across the world have expressed concern, compassion, and anger about the events unfolding in the United States to me personally. People are hurting and are facing a range of strong and deep emotions.

We stand united with our Black colleagues, as we do with all colleagues who face discrimination and inequality of any kind. The global management team and I will be listening to your concerns, working with our firms and all leaders, and doing whatever we can to support all of you. I know the leaders of many countries have already shared messages with their colleagues and teams condemning racism and offering assistance.

This is only a start. Our commitment to inclusion and diversity is long embedded in our purpose, our values, and our culture, but we must do more to build a fairer society within the walls of KPMG and throughout the communities we serve.

We’re not perfect, and we don’t have all the answers, but what we can do is pledge to keep learning, keep listening, keep speaking up, and keep taking action.

If you have any questions or comments, please do let me, your manager, or your local leadership know, and we will do everything we can to support every community in our Firm.

Best regards,

WBT

Good afternoon, please remember you have an openly racist employee by the name of Sachin Clarky Boodram who is still employed at KPMG Trinidad & Tobago. A newspaper report from @expressupdates https://trinidadexpress.com/news/local/kpmg-distances-itself-from-manager-s-racist-facebook-rant/article_868d0d22-a9ef-11ea-a7a9-cbc191ac6160.html alleged that senior management is prevented employees from expressing their displeasure & disgust at the lack of action by said management. Is this how KPMG condemns racism and discrimination? By allowing openly racist individuals to continue to manage employees who he can openly discriminate against? This is shameful and a disgrace and I hope KPMG Global takes a look at this situation at KPMG T&T and ensures the right action is taken.
