Let’s Get Started by the "Daily Management Meeting" called as "Short Interval Management"

In the past, we might use the mark pen to explain tasks on the mark board, and the hand writing style was less productive. Sometimes, problems identified on the production line are not immediately reported to management, wasting valuable time and potentially leading to serious accidents. Moreover, without the entire scenario, the senior management can only see a piece of the puzzle, not listen well from the front-line people, and have a limited perspective to make decisions.

However, in this digital world, KOYO Elevator proactively strives for digital transformation by applying the scientific approach of e-SIM management, which will have a comprehensive closed-loop view from front-line feedback to management resolution, displaying everything on the screen. Based on Lean methodologies, the operations center has been deploying the e-SIM system instead of traditional mark board and handwriting. The e-SIM system helps us prioritize activities and respond quickly to barriers and improvement opportunities, which shortens our management horizon and accelerates the pace of the whole organization.

To put everyone in an optimally effective position to achieve, maintain, and systematically improve the level of performance in Safety, Quality, Service Level, and Efficiency, KOYO Elevator has been leveraging Short Interval Management (SIM) in daily operations. From the bottom to the top, to give the real instant feedback smoothly, and vice versa, from the top to the bottom to provide a promised resolution process at the level to which the issues have been brought. In the SIM system, the issue will be automatically escalated to higher management if there is no prompt resolution at a certain level of the management.

Therefore, the frontline members of the KOYO Elevator will understand their direction to perform their jobs effectively. If any issues arise, they will know where to provide feedback. Workloads will be precisely measured, ensuring that everyone always feels well cared.

For management, comprehensive information will serve as a reference for decision-making. Each level of the management will understand their job roles, and promptly provide the resolutions for any issue. Routine meetings that help to convey and collect information will be conducted in a smooth conversation.

Everyone in the loop will be highly engaged due to the mutual commitment from the bottom up and from the top down. The successful deployment of the e-SIM system at KOYO Elevator not only improves employee engagement but also leverages Lean Digital transformation in Daily Management.
