SEAI Traditional Homes Pilot is now Open!

The SEAI has launched an innovative pilot scheme specifically targeting traditionally constructed homes in Ireland. This ground-breaking initiative addresses the unique challenges of retrofitting older properties, particularly the approximately 250,000 homes built before modern building standards.

Key Highlights of the Pilot Scheme:

• Seeking 100 traditionally constructed homes to participate
• Runs until early 2026
• Aims to develop tailored retrofit solutions for pre-1940s buildings
• Targets achieving a B2 Building Energy Rating (BER)

What Makes This Scheme Unique:

• Recognises that older homes require specialised retrofit approaches
• Homeowners must engage a traditional building professional (accredited architect, surveyor, or chartered engineer)
• Offers comprehensive upgrade options including: Roof insulation, Wall insulation, Floor insulation, Windows & doors ,Ventilation, Renewable heating, Solar technologies.

Korey our Christmas Elf would like to wish you all a Very Merry Christmas, he's busy charging up his electric car to go back to the north pole to see Santa and all his friends, stay tune for the rest of Korey's Retrofit journey on our social media channels.
