'Koi maai ka laal paida hua hai jo...': PM Modi blasts INDIA bloc over 'will remove CAA' statement

In a powerful address at a public rally in Lalganj, Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi delivered a staunch defense of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA), challenging the Opposition's INDIA bloc over their commitment to repeal the law. Speaking ahead of the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha Elections 2024, PM Modi declared, "No one can erase the CAA from this country."

During his speech, PM Modi posed a rhetorical question to the crowd, "Koi maai ka laal paida hua hai jo CAA ko khatam kar sakta hai? [Has anyone been born in this country who can repeal the CAA?]" He reiterated his stance that the CAA is here to stay and accused the Opposition, particularly the Samajwadi Party and the Congress, of engaging in divisive politics under the guise of secularism.

"Even if they gather all their strength, they won't be able to erase the CAA," PM Modi asserted, addressing the leaders of the INDIA bloc. He accused these parties of spreading misinformation and inciting violence, stating, "They tried their best to burn the country, including UP, in riots."

Emphasizing the historical context, PM Modi referenced Mahatma Gandhi, stating, "Mahatma Gandhi had assured minorities in neighboring countries that they could seek refuge in India." He criticized the Congress for neglecting these communities over the past 70 years, alleging that they were not considered a significant vote bank.

The Prime Minister's remarks came on the heels of the first issuance of citizenship certificates under the CAA to 14 individuals. He was joined on stage by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Lalganj Lok Sabha seat candidate Neelam Sonkar, and Azamgarh candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirhaua'.

As the Lok Sabha elections approach, with polling in Lalganj and Azamgarh set for May 25, PM Modi's speech underscores the ongoing political battle over the CAA and highlights his unwavering support for the legislation.
