Outwork Everyone
Kobe Bryant's work ethic was truly legendary, and it went beyond relying solely on his natural talent. He understood that skills and talent were important, but he also knew that it was the relentless hustle and determination that truly set him apart. By hitting the gym at 4 am and putting in the extra work, he elevated his game to new heights, resulting in five NBA championships, two Olympic gold medals, and numerous accolades. So many of his opponents have spoken in awe of his intensity in (and before) the game.
Beat the odds
When Kobe Bryant suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in 2013, doctors feared it could be a career-ending injury. The road to recovery was grueling, with countless hours of rehabilitation and immense physical and mental challenges. But Kobe's determination and unwavering spirit prevailed. Incredibly, Kobe returned to the court and led the Los Angeles Lakers to the NBA playoffs in the 2013-2014 season, showcasing his resilience and inspiring his teammates. While he didn't win another championship after 2013, his impact on the game and his team remained undeniable.
Hustle trumps talent - most times
Set-back is a step back to leap
Outside the court, Kobe Bryant faced a significant failure when his debut as a writer was met with initial rejection. His first children's book was rejected multiple times by publishers before finding a home. Instead of letting this setback discourage him, Kobe persisted and took it as an opportunity to refine his craft. He continued to write and learn, eventually becoming a New York Times bestselling author with his book series "The Wizenard Series."
Be a better version of you, Everyday:
Kobe's self-improvement extended beyond basketball, into his business ventures. Despite being a newcomer in the entertainment industry, Kobe's studio achieved remarkable success, winning an Academy Award for the animated short film "Dear Basketball." He founded Granity Studios, a multimedia company focused on creating captivating content for all ages.
RIP Black Mamba!
