Knysna Elephant Park
Just around the corner from Plettenberg Bay on your way to Knysna, you will discover the world-renowned Knysna Elephant Park. Besides coming up close and personal with these amazing creatures, you will also experience the tranquil Knysna Elephant Park Lodge, a feeling of serenity lasting as long as you stay there. The reason is simple and magnificent: next to the elephants' den, their cuddle cove – their spot for the night so to speak – are a few very exclusive yet reasonably priced accommodation suites to entice any lover of these peaceful pachyderms!
Situated above the sleeping quarters of these jungle giants, you can overnight in one of the Knysna Elephant Park Lodge "to be seen there" rooms, and enjoy drinks on the leather-couch in the luxury-clad communal lounge directly facing (open-plan), the elephants resting place. This is a must-do experience, having private access to a collection of majestic bush-masters while sipping and socializing with other guests during this intimate encounter of a life-time.
Lisette Withers and her staff will complete your experience with great service and a serene environment fit for a king. The on-site restaurant and comprehensive curio shop completes the picture of a vacation to remember as unique as it gets.
Truth and Quality (a division of the Go Group) links tourists and travelers with accurate assessment of vacation and activity venues, grading them on a fixed scale. However, this experience is rare and required a special rating. We are delighted to give Knysna Elephant Park and the Lodge a healthy and deserving Platinum rating of 8.260 on our scale of 1.000 – 10.000. We felt the restaurant had wonderful dishes, but there were some smiles :) missing from on-duty staff, something we rate high because of our commitment to the Go Group’s Tourism Friendly Initiative.
We do however recommend for every discerning traveler, to take some time out at Knysna Elephant Park Lodge. Go “just be” there, take a book and kick back, while spending quality time with the beautiful herd of elephants a few meters away!
