KNWN for Raised by Wolves

In honour of our upcoming 15th anniversary in 2023, we are thrilled to announce the release of our very first snowboard for the 2023 season. Limited to just 15 pieces, each board was expertly hand-built with meticulous craftsmanship and premium materials by OG-shaper Jason Broz of KNWN in Squamish, British Columbia. Jason has over 25 years of experience and has hand-shaped more than 8000 boards over his career.

My younger (and current) self is freaking out right now. It’s hard to explain just how excited I am and what this project means to me. Quite literally, I am fulfilling my teenage dream.

I grew up in Eastern Canada and first stepped foot on a snowboard in the mid-90s. Snowboarding quickly consumed my life. It influenced the way I dressed, the friends I made and helped me find my sense of identity in the world. It was the subculture that I most closely associated with. Long before RBW was even a thought, I dreamt of one day designing my own board and eventually, snowboarding would be one of the catalysts for starting Raised by Wolves in the first place. In a way, this release feels as though the first book in the Raised by Wolves series has come full-circle and the next one can begin.

Although RBW now consumes most of my time, snowboarding still serves as my outlet for sparking creativity or taking a break to clear my mind throughout Canada's long, cold winters.

This seems like a good time to mention that for our 2022 commitment to 1% for the Planet , RBW has chosen to partner with Protect Our Winters .

POW leads a community of athletes, thought pioneers and forward-thinking business leaders to affect systemic political solutions to climate change. Their political agenda consists of a four-pronged approach to climate solutions, including clean energy, clean transportation, carbon pricing and protecting public lands from fossil fuel extraction. POW has chosen to focus on these four areas because of their broad-reaching impact on climate, their possibility for success in policy and their ability to be enacted on the individual and collective scale.

I would like to give a huge shoutout to Jason Broz for making this happen and all of the incredible people I’ve met over the years through snowboarding.
