KNOWLEDGE Vs CHARACTER
People say that Knowledge is power, and it is superior of all, but character is more important, because it is the character that is going to determine how the knowledge is to be utilized.? E.g. Net-hackers are very highly knowledgeable, but their character is making them to use the knowledge for negative purposes.
Now a days, the education is being considered enough for the development of the mind of a man. Of course, the education is good to give us knowledge, but only knowledge cannot change a man. Education may change an ordinary into an intelligent man, but it cannot change the character of a human being. The intelligence may make him an expert doctor or scientist, but there are possibilities that it may also make a man, a dangerous criminal. At the same time, it is also possible that an expert doctor or scientist, later, may turn into a dangerous criminal. Evidently, education does not guarantee of making an ideal man for the society… For this, the building up of the character is also required. This building up of the individual character when multiplied becomes the character of the Nation.
?
Knowledge and character are two different wings of human life, and both are necessary for an 'ideal' man of the society. Neither can be ignored as they supplement each other. Knowledge is imparted by a teacher, but character is built up by a Guru or a Master or a Mentor. The teacher can give to his student,?the theoretical knowledge of scriptures, but the Master gives practical training for inner development of his disciple.

?
A teacher is one who gathers information from outside sources, such as books, newspapers, television, or discourses; and passes on to those who are in search of knowledge or information. A Master is one who gains knowledge by his own experience. He is Master by virtue of his own achievements. He has Mastered his mind and acquired the purity of heart to its highest level, may be close to Divinity. In short, he is 'enlightened'. To him, only come those, who are willing to be transformed from within.
?
One who seeks knowledge is a student, but a disciple is one, whom the Master has accepted to transform him. Knowledge is related with the mind, while transformation is the result of controlling and realizing one's own 'self''. The Master uproots the bad and old from within, with new and whatever necessary for the evolution of an ideal character. In a sense, the Master first kills his disciple as he is, and then gives him a new birth. A teacher never cares as to how a student makes use of the knowledge, which he has given to him. The teacher makes a learned man out of the student, but a Master makes a Master?out of?the disciple. When a Master leaves the body permanently, he becomes the Master of Masters, a Satguru- just like Jesus, Mohammed, Buddha, Mahavir or Sai Baba. Then they guide the Masters. When somebody becomes Master, his relationship with the Master of Masters comes into existence; the Master of Masters, who is no more in body, but his existence in the Infinite, is still there. He is no more within the bounds of TIME and SPACE, but alive in TOTALITY.
