Knowledge is power but habit is even more powerful. #ThoughtOfTheDay
In the Muslim world, every Friday at the noon prayer, a special sermon gets delivered. Based on the teachings of the Holy Quran and that of Prophet Muhammad, these orations are full of wisdom and spiritual truth. They teach us incredibly rich life lessons which are intensely inspiring. Even an atheist would appreciate the intellectual and moral values conveyed by such religious discourses and would see the immense benefit of such teachings for leading an enriched and a fulfilled life.
Needless to say, on each and every Friday, for over 1400 years, an enlightening lecture of the type aforementioned has been heard. It is, however, fair to state that the true rewards of such teachings have hardly been felt upon us. If we are able to take a steady direction, even from just one such sermon and refrain from letting our moral compass swerve, we will, no doubt, live much richer and more profound lives.
Indeed, it is not the relevant knowledge we lack. It is the courage we lack - the courage of adopting sustainable good life habits is what we lack. As a matter of fact, we are knowledge rich but habit poor and to some extent we are all guilty of this. Aren't we?
